The DDH Journal of Dredging and Transport Studies is an offshoot of Dredge Drill & Haul magazine (www.ddhmag.com). Beginning from mid-year 2022 editions of DDH Magazine, we plan to add the journal as a segment for well-researched studies, academic papers, articles, and book reviews, in addition to the magazine’s news platform. The aim is to give vent for the dissemination of research findings which have potential policy impact in the niche areas of dredging, associated disciplines and transportation in Nigeria, Africa and around the world. The plan is for a gradual process which would eventually see the news outlet and the journal either continuing in one print publication or published on separate mastheads, in print and online. Whereas the online publication of manuscripts shall be instant once peer-reviewed articles become ready, their publication in print shall follow a bi-annual frequency in tandem with the news magazine.
All submitted manuscripts shall go through peer-reviews and come out with a positive result. Our peer review mechanism shall be provided by an international board of academics, scholars and hands-on gurus in areas such as transportation studies, marine engineering, other branches of science, dredging theory and practice, and hydrographical services. We shall attain key credentials of academic journals, including cross-referencing and optimized internet search engine functionalities, DOIs, double blind peer review and strong links with industry, to satisfy the-town-meet-the-gown expectations.
