International Journal of Dredging and Transport Studies

The Nigerian dredging and sand mining industry is exhibiting prolific growth in indigenous technology and fabrication of homegrown dredgers, plants and equipment. The trend began with the popular use of Chinese quick-fix techniques by the indigenous Nigerian operators and grew with the accompaniment of strong surveying tendencies which justifies appropriate studies and publication.

Consequently, the Dredge Drill & Haul (DDH) magazine shall henceforth publish an additional international journal for well-researched academic papers, articles, and book reviews on dredging and sand mining studies.  Titled International Journal of Dredging and Transport Studies, its aim is to give vent for the dissemination of strong research findings with potential policy impact in niche areas such as dredging, sand mining and multi-modal transport studies in Nigeria, Africa, the developing world and elsewhere.  In the interim, we shall publish print and online versions. Whereas the online publication of articles shall be almost instant whenever peer-reviewed articles become ready, the print publications shall be bi-annual, composed of the news magazine and ready journal manuscripts.

All journal articles shall go through peer-reviews and come out with a positive result.  Our Peer Review mechanism shall be provided by an international board composed of eminent professors, scholars and hands-on gurus in transportation studies, on the one hand, and marine engineering, other branches of science, dredging theory and practice, and hydrographical services, on the other. We shall satisfy the credentials of the publication to suit the requirements of academic journals, including cross-referencing and optimized internet search engine functionalities, DOIs, double blind peer review and strong links with industry operators. Eventually, our reputation shall be judged by our output, in terms of the content and integrity.
